Woke up body totally fresh. I am finally back after 6 weeks without Angamardhana.
Did Bhuta Shuddi followed by cat stretch.
Did Angamardhana, bit stiff especially the standing bending forward postures.
Squatting postures was quite good considering 6 weeks of non practice. Glad I went back for a guided session.
Sitting was good. M surprised the Hero posture comes with barely any pain.
No time to do Surya Kriya cos took longer in Angamardhana due to long break. And feeling much tired out.
Only have time for short breathing meditation.
Shakti was good. Kapala Bhakti was good. Singing and dancing at the end.
Shambavi was good too. Laughing a bit and sit in silent contentment.
Yesterday Yogaasanas are good. Crying and laughing, broke some karma.
Mind churning with ideas for local hata yoga. But it will take me going public with Hata, facing rejection and etc with my corporate acquaintance.
The former teacher is right. I m truly black or white, no in between. Either I want or don't want. When I want, I go all the way.
Just as me keeping my yoga life private from family, friends and colleagues for years and now I open up and want to open to all.
Angamardhana
Anga” means “Limbs/body parts/organs” and “Mardhana” means “to gain mastery/control over”. In other words, Angamardhana means gaining complete mastery over the limbs, organs and other parts of the body.
Angamardhana is a system rooted in yoga that offers to everyone the opportunity to invigorate the body to reach peak physical and mental health. True to its name, this practice revitalizes the body on all levels including the muscles, blood circulation, skeletal structure, nervous system, and the basic energy system.
It strengthens the spine, builds physical strength, fitness and tenacity, taking years off the body.
In terms of health, it creates aerobic exercise and muscle tone, without bringing rigidity into the body-without you becoming like a toad.
Physical health does not mean toning up muscle and aerobic exercise only, there is organ health that needs to be taken care of.
Angamardhana strengthens one’s organs. It is a possibility to merge the body and mind in such a way that there is no distinction. Your body itself thinks, and more clearly and surely than the mind.
