Osho - with ego, you need spiritual path via groups (volunteering)

U can pursue ur spiritual growth alone, or u can work through a group, through a school.
Group methods can exist only if ur ego has come to a point where it is a burden to carry it. When the ego has to become so burdensome that to be alone is to be in anguish, then group methods becomes meaningful - because in a group u can dissolve ur ego.

If the ego is not very evolved, then individual methods can help u. U can move to a mountain, u can be isolated or even living in an ashram with a master u can work alone: u do ur own meditation, others do their own. U never work together.

Great. My ego is definitely well evolved. No wonder I m not left alone. Honestly preference is for individual but somehow I m 'pushed' towards group.
Working as volunteer in Isha is group method.
I know I needed group method due to my validation issue. But looks like there is a deeper reason for me being involved in Isha.
So my brother sets the platform for validation.  S was the one and now taken over by P.

In India, ego has never been helped to grow. From the very beginning, we have been against the ego. So u grow in ego but the ego remains vague, blurred; u remain humble, so u are not really an egoist. It is not peak in u, it is flat ground, because everybody has to be, but not absolute egoists. U always think it is wrong and so u go on pulling urself down. In certain situation u r provoked and ur ego becomes a peak - but ordinarily it is not a peak, it is flat ground.
In India, the ego is just like anger - if someone provokes u, u become angry; if nobody provokes u, u r not angry.
In the West, the ego has become a permanent fixture. It is not like anger, it is now like breathing. There is no need to provoke it - it is there, it is a constant phenomenon.
Because of this ego, a group becomes a very helpful thing. In the group, working with a group, merging urself into the group, u can put ur ego more easily

In the East, society is too much around. They feel fed up with themselves, they are fed up with the society. The society is all around so much, that they don't feel any freedom. So whenever somebody wants to be silent, he runs to Himalaya.

In the West, u r fed up with urself and u want some bridge, how to be communicative with the society, with others; how to create a bridge, how to move to the other so u can forget urself.
In the West, u run to the society. In the East, u run from the society. That's why individual method exist in the East and group method exist in the West.

The geographical division has already been dissolved and that why a synthesis method will be needed.
Start from society and reach to urself. Don't escape from community - live in the world but don't be of it.
Be related, but still remain alone.
Love and meditate; meditate and love - but don't choose.
Love plus meditation is my approach.
