Money or meditation...one for possesing things and the other for possessing urself

Ordinarily everybody is possessive of things because nobody possesses themselves; it is a substitute. When u don't possess urself, u start possessing things. It gives u a sort of security - at least u possess something, a big house, a big balance in the bank, a beautiful woman, a wife, a husband, children, security, respectability.

U possess something, u don't possess urself. To take ur eyes away from that inner zeroness, nothingness, that emptiness, u go on filling things all around u. But it is not going to satisfy u, because whatsoever u possess will never make u full inside; u will remain empty.

The idea to possess things arises because we don't possess our being. Because being is missing, we start moving into the world of having - "have this, have that" but u will remain frustrated. Deep down the emptiness will be felt again and again and again.

U cannot deceive; one day or other u will have to recognise the futility of it. U can possess the whole world and u will remain poor. Unless u possess urself, u will remain poor. There is only one richness and that is to possess oneself, to be one self.

Men are less interested in things than women - why? Because the woman has been so repressed down the centuries that she cannot imagine possessing herself. She has been possessed like a thing; she has been completely dispossessed from her center, hence she has become interested in things. She continuously thinks about things: "Have more money, have a bigger house, have a bigger car, ornaments, jewels, diamond, this and that ... go on having. That is the only way she can have a little feeling that she is also somebody. This ugly situation arise because women have never been allowed to possess themselves. The man is the master and the woman is the slave. But man is only the master for the name's sake, so he is also interested in things.

U become really human only when u start moving in the inner direction of possessing urself. It can happen only through meditation. Money and meditation are only the two directions.

If u want to possess things, money; if u want to possess urself - meditation. And if u possess urself, money loses all meaning. Money is then an utility, u earn and u spend, ur not a miser. Money is then a good medium of exchange - very helpful but nothing more. It is not ur soul, it is not ur god.

Ordinarily money seems to be the only god in the world. When u possess urself, u use money, u don't allow money to use u.

Recognise the fact that u r empty and then immediately the idea will arise "Then what am I to do?". Go into this emptiness. It cannot be filled by any thing from the outside. If u go in, it can be filled. If u reach ur center of being, it will be full. And that is real fullness.
Then u r an emperor, outwardly u may just be a beggar.
Then u r really rich and the richness is such that nobody can take it away from u, not even death.
